The Paradox of Learning

Elon sues OpenAI, Claude 3 and Inflection-2.5 underperform GPT-4, Wisdom from Dune and much more...

Hey everyone,

Welcome to your Sunday Space, where I distil the best ideas, resources, and principles from the Internet for you to digest.

IDEAS
The Paradox of Learning

To learn coding, do coding.

To learn creative writing, do creative writing.

RESOURCES
What I consumed this week…

…From around the web

The entire saga, memes and all, has been well-documented on the internet. A few observations from my outsider-looking-in view:

  • The entire lawsuit comes down to incentives:

    • Elon taking control of OpenAI would have made Tesla and SpaceX way more valuable. OpenAI is now more valuable than he thought possible without him.

  • Credit to Elon because he knew the sheer amount of capital required to build AI systems years before anyone else.

  • While OpenAI’s email leaks make it look like a “gotcha” moment for Elon, I don’t think they’re off the hook completely, considering how they’ve gone about their business since founding in 2015.

There’s been a lot of fuss about the “best-of-the-rest” AI model releases on the internet this week. Anthropic made a huge leap with Claude 3 and has shown that it can at least match GPT-4.

At this point, we’re seeing a levelling off in the capabilities of these models.

I’m convinced we’ll see the next leg-up in model capability with the release of GPT-5. OpenAI released GPT-4 in March 2023 and had been testing it for ~6 months prior, so GPT-5 is probably already on its way.

I love to see advancements in how AI is helping medical professionals make their diagnoses more efficient.

The tool that the doctors and clinical scientists at this UK hospital are using decreases the time taken in the process from ~1 hour to less than a minute.

Incredible.

TOOLS
The No-Code x AI Bootcamp

If you're a regular here, you’ll know I’ve been through the Bootcamp myself. I'm not big on courses, and I recommend even fewer.

That speaks volumes about this one. It was a game-changer.

I’ve always been 'almost there.’ Full of ideas, yet stuck at the starting line, watching others on Twitter launch their products and succeed.

Then, I joined the Bootcamp. It completely changed my perspective.

I discovered the true power of building with No-Code and launched my MVP in a weekend.

I’m no longer hampered by analysis paralysis and have a roadmap of ideas and products I plan to build.

If you’re feeling stuck like I was, this Bootcamp is the way to break free.
